Girard Perregaux R and D 01
The history of Girard Perregaux dates back to 1791 and as such needs no further introduction to anyone with even the least amount of horological knowledge. Like most other firm, GP delved into making motor sports themed timepieces and with the late Luigi Macaluso on board, it came upon naturally. Aptly named Girard Perregaux R & D 01, one of these efforts was the result of years of research and development. Made from steel, titanium, or 18k gold, its most striking features are the inverted push-pieces, a car gauge inspired dial, an internal rotating bezel, and a crown field reminiscent of an F1 air intake. The case of the Girard Perregaux R & D 01 can measure 41mm to 45mm in diameter, inside is an in-house automatic movement with 46 hours power reserve. Showcasing hours, minutes, seconds, chronograph, date, and day/night indicator, the Girard Perregaux R & D 01 is a true drivers watch.
